My complementary health training  began with my  completing  a diploma (IIHHT), which qualified me in the use of aromatherapy, massage and reflexology. I then enrolled on a foundation degree accredited by The  University of Sunderland - this enabled me to access new training in nutrition and disease pathology.

The course also offered advanced tuition in anatomy and physiology, and further clinical training in toxicology - the safe use of aromatic herbs in health and disease prevention. This  International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists (IFPA) accreditation qualified me in the clinical use of aromatherapy.

I pursued my studies in natural medicine, by enrolling at the Lakeland College of Homeopathy in Cumbria, and successfully graduated from the course with full membership. Upon graduating I registered with the Alliance of Registered Homeopaths (ARH), and now work as a registered Homeopath in the West End of Darlington and Golborne (Greater Manchester).

My training covers a wide spectrum of therapeutic areas, and I prefer to incorporate these skills into my work as a Homeopath. I will use whatever therapy/medicine is pertinent to the particular patient I am treating. My knowledge and experience endorses my belief about the benefits of using natural medicine such as herbals, tissue salts and flower essences to supplement my practise in Homeopathy.

I am actively involved in post graduate training, as I have always been conscious of the need to keep an open mind, and keep up to date with my working skills. To achieve my objective I have embarked on a program of Continuous Professional Development, which keeps me up to date with current thinking.

Recent areas of CPD have included further training in herbal medicine. I have also trained with Ian White, creator of the Australian Bush Flower range, and with Patrick Holford. Patrick Holford is recognised as one of the foremost leaders in nutritional health, and is author of, amongst others, the Optimum Nutrition Bible.

I feel it is necessary to continue encompassing as wide a spectrum of training in current practices as is feasible, My intention is to offer my patients a service which remains flexible, and reflective of their uniqueness, and individual circumstances.

I also feel that an integrative approach to health is the best possible care for the patient, and facilitate this, as required, by working with other professionals as part of my standard practise.
